Technical Account Executive

Job Definition: 

The Technical Account Executive is responsible for developing sales opportunities to both new and existing clients. The intent of the role for existing clients is to serve as to design solutions expert and to help generate net new managed service clients for the entire sales team. The Technical Account Executive is responsible for leading client needs assessment and growth planning to provide our clients with a competitive advantage through effective IT solution deployment and management. The Technical Account Executive is often assigned large key accounts that require a technical resource.  During a day, the Technical Account Executive works with the team to design solutions for all clients while maintaining a much smaller dedicated client base.

This position also includes an expectation for relationship building and intimate familiarity with the critical mechanics of our clients’ business. As such, this position is required to often make independent client facing decisions on behalf of the organization. These decisions can positively or negatively effect our company’s well being.

This position will work independently and make business impactful decisions that affect revenue and growth. This position will report directly to the Sales Manager but will also need to work closely with the Project Team, Operations Staff, and Help Desk Technicians. Issue resolution will be engaged in the field and also remotely.

Success in this position requires excellent negotiation, communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Measurement of success in this position is calculated in a variety of ways including customer satisfaction, project, transactional and agreement revenue generation. The position also requires in depth knowledge of all applications and hardware that our customers use. Job Duties:

  1. Act as liaison between sales, purchasing department and clients.
  2. Onsite meetings with clients periodically.
  3. Proactively generate new sales opportunities.
  4. Manage sales funnel for all opportunities and update ConnectWise (CRM) accordingly.
  5. Follow-up with clients by phone both proactively where it concerns upcoming projects/quotes.
  6. Lead and assist in the development of reports, tools and processes that improve client relations efforts, the K&R Network Solutions warranty program and Account Executive initiatives.
  7. Proactively farms existing clients through passive sales techniques and touches. Identifies sales opportunities for new hardware versus warranty renewal using K&R Network Solutions tools.
  8. Prepare client reviews and onsite reports for partners and sales team.
  9. Maintain client groups in CRM.
  10. Update CRM based on employee feedback (team roles, contacts, Account Managers, etc.).
  11. Proactively use Marketing Manager for periodic K&R Network Solutions updates.
  12. Update Intranet when necessary with client specific and departmental documents.
  13. Prepare departmental reports for management.
  14. Create, review and approve department procedures and processes. Train team members on all approved departmental SOPs.
  15. Work with Dispatch, Technical team and Purchasing Manager to guide configuration collection
  16. Help to facilitate existing and new vendor partnerships.
  17. Participate in client onboarding and review documentation.
  18. Work with prospects to develop a significant understanding of their needs and translate those needs into solutions that solve their business issues.
  19. Conduct onsite or online presentations to prospects showcasing K&R Network Solutions services and products to existing and prospective clients.
  20. Participate in industry trade shows, educational sessions or other local and national events for partners and other organizations of which K&R Network Solutions is a member or acts as a trusted advisor.
  21. Work with a cross-functional team to provide customer quotes, RFP/RFI responses, ROI, proposals, order forms and product information based on specific use case and business value.
  22. Act as a trusted business advisor to the customer and utilize the knowledge of K&R Network Solutions ’ products, technology and services to help customers grow and thrive.
  23. Engage cross-functional resources in order to achieve goals and meet customer needs.
  24. Effectively communicate features and benefits of solutions and manage prospect expectations.
  25. Achieve and maintain a positive rapport with prospects and work to give them the best possible results.
  26. Exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas.
  27. Engineers the support and maintenance of large-scale production networks and systems, including the design and development of tools and scripts to assist with such maintenance.
  28. Integrates and/or consolidates servers and services between different business units and technologies, including the design and development of the necessary integration tools.
  29. Designs, integrates, and maintains network services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMB, SNMP, electronic mail, IPSEC / PPTP virtual private networks and firewalls applications.
  30. Designs and develops high-performance groups of servers for resource-intensive network applications.
  31. Designs archive and backup systems. Works closely with technical staff to insure that backup and archiving designs and procedures are implemented properly.
  32. Plans and implements system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.
  33. Develops best practices, operational procedures and design documentation
  34. Plans and coordinates system utilization, and performs growth analysis and capacity planning.
  35. Reviews current systems and makes technical/process recommendations for improving efficiency.
  36. Stays up to date with relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Evaluates new hardware and software technologies, and presents analysis and purchase recommendations to the administration team and to management.
  37. Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team and perform effectively as an independent producer under broad management direction.
  38. Recommend and perform client requests for recurring scheduled activity, technical reviews and strategy meetings as part of the managed services offerings
  39. Contribute to the MSP deliverables and process to improve and strengthen K&R’s place within the market space
  40. Communicate client needs to K&R Network Solutions and define and design methods for delivery

  

Job Requirements: 

  • 4+ years of network engineering and systems administration experience in Windows production environment required.
  • Technology experience.
  • Sales experience
  • Bachelor degree from reputable academic institution.
  • Superior communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization.
  • Strong organization and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, ConnectWise and QuoteWerks a plus.
  • Possess a track record of prospecting, qualifying and managing customer commitment as a part of the sales process.
  • Possess the ability to forecast, penetrate and acquire new lines of business while growing existing accounts.
  • Enjoy working with people and have above-average customer service skills.
  • High energy and self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Outgoing, problem-solver who can demonstrate he/she is entirely self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal direction.
  • Able to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong leadership, presentation and planning ability as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to cope with a complex and changing environment while projecting a positive sales attitude.
  • Effectively use software such as Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint as well as other general office tools.
  • Ability to travel 50% in the assigned territory.
  • Experience with Kaseya and or ConnectWise PSA a plus
